What is Wisdom?

What is wisdom? Is it making the right choices? Is it not making the wrong ones? Is it patience? Is it something else? For me Wisdom is acceptance. Acceptance in the idea that whatever happens or happened is what was supposed to happen at that time and place. It is being secure in your own self enough to know that things will unfold in the manner as they would.

Krishnamurti said “Not to know is the beginning of wisdom”

Imagine that; not knowing how a thing will turn out or if it is for the good or the bad is wisdom. I tend to agree. See we believe that wisdom is having knowledge of what is to be, or what is to come or of accurately predicating an outcome. Further I think we operate from a point of view of holding pre-conceived notions on how things need to be or how things should turn out, we are by that extent tied to that vision of how things will be. When that doesn’t happen, we immediately become sad or upset. When that happens, wisdom is not operating, but emotion is.

What would happen if we were able to simply let go of all of these things, if we were able to be free of the such notions and ideas. What would happen if we began accepting our lives as they are and as they come? Would we not by that extent be much happier? I think we would because we would not be tied to an outcome or result.

At the end of knowledge; wisdom begins
